NELSON MANDELA IN CRITICAL CONDITION IN HOSPITAL:
Former South African leader Nelson Mandela is in "serious but stable condition" after returning to a hospital with a recurring lung infection, the presidential office said Saturday.
Mandela was taken to a Pretoria hospital early Saturday after his condition deteriorated, Jacob Zuma's office said in a statement.
"Doctors are doing everything possible to make him better and comfortable," the statement said.
Mandela, 94, has become increasingly frail over the years and has not appeared in public since South Africa hosted the World Cup in 2010."During the past few days, former President Nelson Mandela has had a recurrence of lung infection," said a statement from the office of President Jacob Zuma. "This morning at about 1.30 a.m., his condition deteriorated and he was transferred to a Pretoria hospital."
I wish him speedy recovery.

BREAKING: Michael Jackson’s daughter, Paris rushed to hospital after ‘attempted suicide’:

Paris Jackson was rushed to hospital in the early hours of Wednesday amid reports of an attempted suicide.
Her mother Debbie Rowe is understood to have confirmed the reports to Entertainment Tonight and said the 15-year-old is currently at a Los Angeles hospital.
A lawyer for Katherine Jackson, Paris’ grandmother, also appeared to confirm the suicide bid.
‘She’s suffered with the loss of her father,’ the lawyer told the New York Daily News. ‘But we don’t know what she was exposed to that precipitated this.’

Paris, the daughter of the late Michael Jackson, was taken from her Calabasas family home on a stretcher at around 2am and conveyed to a nearby hospital, according to TMZ.
The drama unfolded just hours after the teenager posted a series of alarming messages on Twitter.
Around midnight she recited the sorrowful Beatles’ song Yesterday to her million plus followers, writing: ‘Yesterday, all my troubles seem so far away, now it looks as though they’re here to stay.’
An hour previously, she posted: ‘I wonder why tears are salty.’

Bollywood Actress Jiah Khan Commits Suicide!
Bollywood Actress Jiah Khan Commits Suicide!:
Bollywood is right now, mourning the loss of one of its own.
Yesterday, Monday, June 3, Indian actress Jiah Khan allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself.
The actress' mother had gone for a stroll only to return and find their house door locked from inside. The door was then broken open and Jiah was found hanging.
Police reports say Jiah killed herself after she found out her boyfriend of nearly a year had a new love interest.
She got on the phone several times with him yesterday, and after their last call hanged herself.
Another reported possible cause of her death is that she was unhappy about her career in Bollywood as she was out of job for quite some time. At a recent audition she attended, Jiah had been asked to go home and lose weight.
Possible witnesses are being questioned at the moment. May her soul rest in perfect peace.

Widows In Akwa Ibom Forced To Drink Bath-Water Of Husbands Corpses
Widows In Akwa Ibom Force To Drink Bath-Water Of Husbands Corpses:
Widows have suffered hard times in Akwa Ibom state in a custom allowing the seizure of deceased husbands’ properties and subjecting their widows to inhuman practices such as shaving of the head and making them drink the water used to bath the corpses of their husbands, among others.
A sigh of relieve can now be heaved in the Southern Nigerian state as the custom has now become illegal.
In a bill passed by the House of Assembly and signed by the governor, Chief Godswill Akpabio, the state government outlawed the custom which maltreat widows after the deaths of their husbands, declaring it as unlawful and inhuman.
Speaking on Democracy Day, the governor declared that it had become unlawful for widows to be maltreated in Akwa Ibom, saying defaulters of the law risk fines and three years imprisonment.
In her reaction, First Lady of the state, Chief (Mrs) Unoma Ekaette Akpabio, commended the House of Assembly and the governor for the pro-women law, describing the passage of the law as a breakthrough for the womenfolk in the state.
According to her, “I appreciate the state House of Assembly and the state governor for standing with the womenfolk through this law. Akwa Ibom State has, in the last five years, shown itself as pro-masses and pro-women.”

Dangote becomes first African ever to be worth $20 Billion
Dangote becomes first African ever to be worth $20 Billion:

Nigerian billionaire and Africa’s richest man Aliko Dangote has become the first African entrepreneur to lay claim to a $20 billion fortune as the stock value of his largest holding, Dangote Cement, leaped just about three-fourths since March when Forbes released its annual ranking of the world’s richest people.
Aliko Dangote’s 93% stake in the cement company is now worth $19.5 billion. Add this to his controlling stakes in other publicly-listed companies like Dangote Sugar and National Salt Company of Nigeria and his significant shareholdings in other blue-chips like Zenith Bank, UBA Group and Dangote Flour; his extensive real estate portfolio, jets, yachts and current cash position, which includes more than $300 million in recently awarded Dangote Cement dividends, Dangote is now worth more than $20 billion.
Put into context, the Nigerian billionaire is now among the top 25 richest people in the world, richer than Russia’s richest man, Alisher Usmanov, richer than India’s Lakshmi Mittal and running neck and neck with India’s Mukesh Ambani. He is catching up to such Americans as Google’s billionaire founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin.
The unprecedented surge in Dangote Cement’s share price is largely a market response to the company’s impressive 2013 Q1 results.
The cement manufacturer’s unaudited results for the three months ending March 31 showed that the company’s pre-tax profit rose to $339 million, representing an 80.6% increase from last year and a strong indicator of the company’s future earning potential. The results also indicate a 79.5 % rise in its earnings per share over the corresponding period last year.
Explaining the company’s share price boost in an email to Forbes, Carl Franklin, Dangote Cement’s Head of Investor Relations in the U.K said that in the first quarter of 2013, the company had a huge increase in demand across Nigeria, gas supply improved considerably and the capacity was much more ramped up.
“So Q1 was the first sign of just how profitable we can be in Nigeria. The amazing thing is that 66% of our gas-fired production in Q1 was done at 84% gas. Imagine what would happen to margins if we did the same amount at 95%. This has given investors a good sense of what we can really do when everything goes in the right direction,” Franklin said.
With a current market cap of $20.5 billion, Dangote Cement becomes the first Nigerian company to achieve a market capitalization of over $20 billion.
“It’s certainly a landmark for a Nigerian company and we’re proud to be the first to achieve it. Obviously we are focusing on building long-term and sustainable value for shareholders through our investments in Nigeria and Africa. Nigeria is a very entrepreneurial country and I can assure you that other companies will follow us in achieving this.”
Other companies might eventually achieve this, but it’s going to take a bit of time. Dangote Cement currently accounts for more than a quarter of the total market capitalization of the Nigerian Stock Exchange. The second largest company on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) is currently Nigerian Breweries, West Africa’s largest manufacturer of Alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. The company has a market cap of $8.5 billion.
Dangote debuted on the FORBES billionaires list in 2008 with a fortune we pegged at $3.3 billion. His fortune dropped to $2.5 billion in 2009 and plunged further to $2.1 billion in 2010. His fortune surged 557% in 2011 to $13.8 billion after he took Dangote Cement public. He dropped to $11.2 billion in last year’s rankings, but rebounded at $16.1 billion this year. Since March, his fortune has jumped another 30%.
Dangote was destined to shine in business. At age 8, he apparently gave packets of sweets he had made to the house servants to sell for him. His father Mohammed Dangote was a successful businessman and an associate of his maternal uncle Alhaji Sanusi Dantata. Dantata and his brother controlled the trade in kola nuts and livestock conducted by 200 agents. Dangote started building his fortune over three decades ago after taking a loan from Sanusi Dantata. He started trading in commodities like flour, sugar and cement.
He became a billionaire by later manufacturing these items. He started making pasta, salt, sugar and flour in 1997. But he found his gold mine in cement, when he was awarded a government’s state owned cement business in 2000 and began building his own plant in 2003. He listed Dangote Cement in 2010.
Today, it is Africa’s largest cement company providing cement to Nigeria and other African countries that otherwise would likely have to pay to import much of the materials.
Dangote still likely has bigger ambitions. He told Forbes Wealth Editor Luisa Kroll at Davos in 2011 that he expected his firm to have a market cap of $60 billion within five years. At $20.5 billion, Dangote Cement still has a long way to go to live up to that dream, and while it is quite unlikely that Dangote Cement could hit a $60 billion Market Cap by 2016, don’t write it off as ‘impossible’. With Dangote, you never know.

You could almost hear a pin drop as a deafening hush fell over the lounge when Feza stood to her feet to reveal her swap. When she finally revealed she had put Betty up for possible Eviction, the Ethiopian pulled a face and seemed to take it in her stride. Over in the Ruby House, the tears flowed freely after Nigerian Beverely revealed her swap. Clearly, being Head of House isn’t as glamorous as many people think it is.
When Denzel was told of his fate by Live Show host IK, the Ugandan gave a defeated smile and quickly made a beeline for the Eviction doors. When it was revealed that Huddah was on the first flight back home, Huddah cried bucket loads of tears. Her love interest, Angelo was left shell shocked.
But Africa has decided, and there is nothing Big Brother could do.

We're not involved in Hezbollah armoury saga - Lebanese community:
The Lebanese community in Kano has exonerated itself from the large
consignment of arms uncovered by the Nigerian security agents in the
troubled northern Nigerian commercial city that was linked to
international terrorist organization, Hezbollah.
Addressing newsmen in Kano in its first official reaction since the
Hezbollah cell in the city was busted by the security agents, Chairman
of the community, Tahir Fadlallah said that the Lebanese Community
‘’unequivocally condemns crime in whatever form”.
Tahir Fadlallah, who also doubled as the chairman of the Tahir Guest

we have never been associated with any crime that threatened the peace
of our host”.
Tahir Fadlallah said that, ‘’the community is ready and willing to
cooperate with security and law enforcement agencies in their efforts to
counter any act or activities associated or related to terrorists act”.
Fadlallah maintained that,” Lebanese community will not accept or associate with any criminal individual or group”.
The chairman further disclosed that the Lebanese community will give
their full and unwavering confidence in the ability of the relevant
authorities to carry out thorough investigations with a view to bring
the culprits to justice.
Tahir also condemned in strong terms, the purported newspaper report
