American music mogul, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs has been billed to be part of the forthcoming WrestleMania 29
Don’t be alarmed – Diddy isn’t going into the ring as a wrestler but as one of those scheduled to perform in a 90,000 capacity MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, USA on Sunday April 7, 2013, according to bleacherreport.com.
Following in the long-standing tradition of mainstream stars of the music industry performing at the big event, Diddy who has just been announced as Forbes’ richest hiphop artiste for the third year running was selected to perform a medley of songs which will also include his ‘I’m coming Home’ single which has been a promotional theme song for the annual wrestling event.
A rep for the wrestling body says, WWE chooses to do these performances because the company believes they draw additional attention from mainstream media and helps distinguish WrestleMania from every other wrestling events of the year.
“I was asleep in bed. The girl just snuck in and (makes gesture of taking photograph) I don’t know her. I used to stay in an apartment back then and movement was kind of free. Maybe I didn’t lock the door and she just snuck in and took the pix. I have however moved to my new home where there is much tighter security.
I didn’t realise what was going on even after the pix was posted online. I traveled to Ghana immediately afterwards and I noticed on the plane people were just staring at me and I wondered why. Since it was a flight my phone was switched off and so I had no idea what was happening online. When I got to Ghana, I still got the same stare from people. I was asked by friends to switch on my phone and that was it. 300 calls from Dad, 600 calls from grandma, everyone one asking Davido what’s going on.”
The Central Bank of Nigeria on Thursday announced the cancellation of the N100 monthly Automatic Teller Machine card maintenance fee introduced by some banks recently and which generated public condemnation.
The CBN in a circular titled, ‘Revised guide to bank charges,’ posted on its website, however, pegged the maintenance fee at N100 annually.
Also affected is the mandatory cost of Short Message Service alert which has been pegged at N4 subject to the Nigerian Communication Commission’s directives.
The circular, which takes effect from April 1, read, “In order to reflect current developments in the market and provide clarity on banking terms, the CBN recently conducted a review of the guide in consultation with all the banks and discount houses, Bankers’ Committee, financial experts and also considered inputs received from other stakeholders to produce the revised guide to bank charges.”
On electronic transfer, the bank said N70 would be charged on transactions below N500,000 while N100 should be charged on transactions between N500,000 and N1m. Transactions above N1m will attract a charge of N500.
It said issuing fee of a debit card should exceed N1,000, while international withdrawals per transaction on debit cards should be charged at N240 rather than N1,000 being currently charged by almost all the banks.
The CBN pegged the interest on savings deposit accounts at a minimum of 30 per cent of the Monetary Policy Rate per annum.
It would be recalled that following the Bankers’ Committee meeting in November 2012 which scrapped the N100 interbank charge on the use of ATM cards, some banks went ahead to introduce the N100 monthly maintenance fee on ATM cards...
The popular gimmick “Oga at the top” which went viral on social media (Facebook and Twitter) after the Lagos state commander of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Mr. Obafaiye Shem made errors while as a guest on Channels Television interview has taken another dimension.
The madness couldn’t stop at Nigerians putting their creativity to test as they making T-shirts, mugs, songs and jokes, money of the opportunity and now here comes the “Oga at the top movie” featuring nollywood star Nkem Owo aka Osuofia as leading act in the movie which just debuted.
Punch correspondent made several efforts to reach Osuofia but all prove futile as his mobile phone was switched off when tried to reach him. He did not also reply to a text message sent to his phone.

Yesterday, the Federal Government stated that they will not withdraw the remaining subsidy on petrol for now.
Senior Specialist Assistant to the President on Public Affairs Dr. Doyin Okupe released a statement regarding the matter which reads:
“We wish to state categorically that, the removal of oil subsidy is not on the table of the Transformation Agenda of the President.
The statement made by President Goodluck Jonathan at the recent Economic Summit held in Lagos was a frank, intellectual and well articulated contribution by the President to the discussion on the Nigerian economy at the said summit, and it was from an honest and sincere leadership perspective.
However, it is an incontrovertible fact that sufficient allocation for fuel subsidy has already being made in the 2013 budget; therefore, there is no cause for alarm on removal of subsidy.
The President and this administration are not insensitive to the plights of the Nigerian masses and will continue to pursue and execute policies and programmes that are in the overall interest of majority of Nigerians and that will bring the greatest good to the greatest number of our teeming population.
Finally, for the avoidance of doubt and at the risk of being repetitive, this administration is not considering the issue of removal of fuel subsidy in the nearest future and certainly will not embark on any such programme without extensive consultations and engagements across the various segments, interests and stakeholders in the Nigerian polity.”

The #1 debut debut of the singer's third effort not only smashed the competition with sales of 968,000, it nearly equaled the combined first-week figures of both of his previous solo discs. Though Experience fell just short of hitting the one million mark, according to figures provided by Nielsen SoundScan, it ranks as the year's best-seller to date. It also easily blew past the first-week figures for 2002's Justified, which entered the charts at #2 with 439,000, as well as 2006's FutureSex/LoveSounds, which hit #1 with 684,000. JT can now claim the 19th biggest debut since SoundScan began tracking sales data in 1991, falling well shy of the all-time record set by his former band, 'NSYNC, whose No Strings Attached moved an untouchable 2.42 million in April 2000. He did, however, break into the top three all-time biggest weeks for a solo male (non-rapping) singer, coming in behind Usher's Confessions (1.10 million) and Garth Brooks' Double Live (1.09 million). According to his label, he also set a few other records, including: fastest-selling album in iTunes history worldwide (89 countries) and the best-selling male artist at Target since 2002 and one of the top three at the retailer — which is carrying a special, bargain-priced edition of the album — in the past decade. The only other notable debut in the top 10 was country newcomer Kacey Musgraves, who was well behind at #2 with Same Trailer, Different Park (43,000). It's too early to tell how JT will hold up next week, but it's likely he'll have to take a backseat to Lil Wayne's I Am Not A Human Being II, which will debut on the charts alongside the latest from Blake Shelton, the Strokes, Alan Jackson, One Republic and will.i.am2.
Billboard 200 charts: 1) Justin Timberlake, The 20/20 Experience (968,000) 2) Kacey Musgraves, Same Trailer, Different Park (43,000) 3) Bruno Mars, Unorthodox Jukebox (41,000) 4) Luke Bryan, Spring Break ... Here to Party (38,000) 5) Pink, The Truth About Love (36,000) 6) Imagine Dragons, Night Visions (29,000) 7) Bon Jovi, What About Now (29,000) 8) Original Soundtrack, "Les Miserables" (28,000) 9) Mumford & Sons, Babel (27,000) 10) Rihanna, Unapologetic (26,000)

Hello guys, i worked on a project with a Nairalander dpuzo. It is an online multi player whot and ludo game that also has some cool social networking features. The games also have offline mode where you can play versus computer. I am not taking any credit for this, he did most of the work, i only helped him do the backend. So please help us test it and tell us what you think, because most of the testing was done on an emulator. The whot runs on J2ME enabled phones and blackberrys while the ludo only run on blackberrys.

Got this article from Tech Crunch, You're Doing It Wrong, BlackBerry:
Its a nice read if you are a freak
BlackBerry CEO Thorsten Heins recently confirmed with CNET that the company would launch a midtier device yet this year and an “exciting” new flagship device could launch around the holidays. “It [the new flagship] takes BlackBerry 10 to another level in terms of the user experience,” he said.
Great! There’s a new BB10 device launching by the end of the year. How’s the Z10 doing, Mr. Heins?
The Z10, the current standard-bearer in BlackBerry’s army, launched in Europe and Canada in early February. Rogers said it was the most successful BlackBerry launch ever. But then, just over a month later, Rogers, along with Bell and Virgin, cut $40 off the Z10′s price, making it just $99 — the same price as the iPhone 5.
The phone just hit AT&T in the States. It launches on Verizon and T-Mobile this week. It’s $199 from all three providers.
But wait. Don’t buy the Z10. Didn’t you hear the CEO? There’s an exciting new one a few months away!
I want to believe in you, BlackBerry. One year ago Friday, I wrote “It’s Time To Believe In RIM And The BlackBerry Again.” People said I was crazy. Gruber filed the post away for claim chowder. But here you are, a year later, the Z10 actually made it to market and it’s a quality device. There are 100,000 apps in BB10′s App World with more additions each week. But you’re killing me, Smalls.
Talk about your current devices, Heins. Keep the focus on the Z10 and not-yet-launched Q10. They’re actually quality handsets and BlackBerry should be very proud.
Upon reading CNET’s article, our Canada-based reporter, Darrell Etherington, said today that his Canadian rage and sadness are all mixed together in a confusing yet delicious soup (I think that means he’s disappointed).
The first rule they teach you in Consumer Electronics 101 is “Don’t talk about a future product until your current device is available.” The Z10 isn’t fully available until tomorrow! The QWERTY-packing Q10 won’t hit U.S. carriers for a couple of months! And you’re already talking about future flagship devices? Settle down and concentrate on the present.
At this point, consumers understand that their cell phones will be outdated within a few months. This is especially true in the Android world where HTC, Samsung and Motorola constantly trump one another. But the accepted churn is slower, more methodical when there’s one only manufacturer involved. Like with Apple.
There is one iPhone a year. When you buy an iPhone on Day One, it’s pretty well accepted that you’ll have the best iPhone for a year. That’s a superficial but valuable feeling and an advantage of the Z10 until this CNET interview.
Now, BlackBerry is asking its remaining fans to not only take a chance on an unproven platform but do so knowing that their device, which they likely purchased with a 2- or 3-year contract, will likely be outdated by the end of the year.
And while we’re on the subject of doing things wrong, this Forbes report, the one about full screen takeovers, better not be accurate. You’re not going to renew any friendships by annoying people with full-screen adverts. You’re going to piss people off.
The BlackBerry of 2013 is very different from the Research in Motion of 2012. There’s life in the system. BlackBerry feels like a scrappy, young fighter instead of a former champion now overweight and out-of-shape. Research in Motion is dead and the young, and seemingly inexperienced BlackBerry has taken its place. I still believe the company can recover and find some level of success. But only if they throw all their weight behind the Z10 and stay quiet about future devices.
Making the declaration on behalf of the government, Minister of Interior, Comrade Abba Moro, congratulated all Christians on the occasion and enjoined them to remain committed to the exemplary attributes of love, tolerance and peaceful co-existence which Jesus Christ exhibited during his time on earth.

(Reuters) - Not even a ferocious storm that pushed the Arnold Palmer Invitational to a Monday finish could stop Tiger Woods from winning an eighth Bay Hill title and reclaiming the world number one ranking.
Looking like his old imposing self, Woods completed a final-round two-under 70 for a two-shot victory over Briton Justin Rose to collect his 77th career PGA Tour win and begin his 11th reign as world number one.
After accepting the sparkling silver trophy from tournament host Arnold Palmer, a clearly delighted Woods was left feeling on top of the world as he returned to the top of the rankings for the first time since October 2010.
"There are certain events that are more special," Woods told reporters. "When you have Arnold Palmer on the 18th green or you have Jack (Nicklaus) at the Memorial ... it's special to be able to walk off the 18th green and see these guys there.
"They're living legends of the game."
Woods has held the number one ranking for a staggering 623 weeks but in the 29 months since he last abdicated his throne Britons Lee Westwood and Luke Donald, Germany's Martin Kaymer and, most recently, Northern Irishman Rory McIlroy, have all occupied the top spot.
Woods's eighth victory at Bay Hill equals Sam Snead's mark for most wins at a single PGA Tour event. It also leaves him just five shy of matching the World Golf Hall of Fame member's record of 82 career PGA Tour victories.
In five starts this season, the 37-year-old American has collected three wins, the earliest he has won three titles in a season since 2008, marking him out as the clear favourite going into next month's Masters.
But success in his final tune-up heading into Augusta has never translated into victory at the year's first major. Each time Woods has won his final event before the Masters (2000, 2003, and 2008) he failed to reach the Augusta winner's circle.
Still, few will be betting against Woods slipping into a fifth green jacket next month.
"If I get healthy, I know I can play this game at a high level," said Woods, who has battled back from knee injuries and struggled with a swing overhaul the last few seasons.
"I know I can be where I'm contending in every event, contending in major championships and being consistent day in and day out, if I got healthy."
A 31-year-old woman from Whitehall is behind bars after being accused of stabbing her boyfriend in the heart and killing him on the day that they were supposed to get married.
Officials from the District Attorney's office say Nacola Franklin is charged with one count of criminal homicide in the stabbing death of 36-year-old Billy Brewster.
Investigators said police received a 911 call from 1580 Olympic Circle in Whitehall at 2:19 am on Saturday. When they arrived, Brewster was found in a second floor landing outside his apartment.
He had been stabbed twice and was taken to Lehigh County Hospital, where he was pronounced dead just over an hour later.
Investigators said the couple lived together in the apartment. They were supposed to get married on that day. Police have not said what the motive was for the killing.
